South Africa

On November 26, I’m very much looking forward to performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.
South Africa holds a special place in my heart. Back in 2016, I visited for the first time to take part in the UNISA International Piano Competition, where I was awarded the second prize. I have such fond memories of that time – not only of the competition itself, but of the people, the atmosphere, and the warmth I experienced throughout my stay.
Five years later, at the Beethoven Competition, I once again had a special connection with this very concerto, winning another second prize with it. Since then, this piece has become like a close musical companion – one that keeps revealing new sides of itself every time I play it.
Returning to South Africa now, to perform this concerto again in Cape Town, feels like meeting an old friend – both in the music and in the place itself.

I’m truly excited for this concert and can’t wait to share Beethoven’s music with the wonderful audience in Cape Town.
