With SYMPHONIACS in China – Where Classical Music Meets the Present

The meeting of classical instruments and electronic sound takes me to a wide variety of stages with SYMPHONIACS. In September and October, I travelled to China with the ensemble, with performances in Shanghai and Wuhan among the stops on our journey.

Travelling also brings a fresh perspective to my own musical work. Performing in a different cultural setting and experiencing an audience’s immediate response are among the most rewarding aspects of an international concert life.

With SYMPHONIACS, the precision of chamber music meets the energy of electronic music. As a pianist, I am particularly drawn to the versatility of my role: carrying melodic lines, shaping rhythmic momentum and bringing together the ensemble’s contrasting instrumental colours.

Our concerts in China offered an opportunity to continue this musical dialogue with audiences far from our European home. Equally memorable are the impressions gathered between performances: encounters, conversations and the discovery of cities whose distinctive rhythms become part of the journey.

My thanks go to everyone who welcomed us, attended the concerts and supported us behind the scenes. I am pleased to share a few impressions from the trip with you here .
